- Quick Start Documentation for ToDo (ShareWare)

- The ShareWare version of ToDo is started by entering:
- ToDoSW
-
- at the DOS command line.
-
- Additional documentation for ToDo is in the file: ToDo.HLP
- It can be viewed/printed from the program by pressing: <Alt> <F1>
- or you can use DOS to view/print the file.

- Hardware Requirements:
- DOS 3.3
- 31 Files (in your CONFIG.SYS)
- 640K RAM (Minimum Available RAM is 500K or greater.)
- (Registered version doesn't require this much!)

- Quick Start:
- DOS Statements in AUTOEXEC.BAT: (assuming ToDo is in a directory
- on drive C: named ToDo)

- SET ToDo=C:\ToDo - Location of ToDo Data Bases
- C:\ToDo\ToDo /CHECK /S /T /H - BATCH mode to check upcomming events
-
- You will also need to ADD the ToDo PATH to your PATH statement.

- DOS Statement in CONFIG.SYS:
- FILES=31
-
- The default date format is mm/dd/yy, however, if you prefer the
- British format of dd/mm/yy, you can make this choice from the
- Configuration Option from the Utility Menu.

- The default Postal Code format is U.S., however, if you prefer the
- Canadian or free form, you can make this choice from the
- Configuration Option from the Utility Menu.

- Hints:
- Function Keys that can be pressed ANYTIME:
- <F1> Context Sensitive Help
- <Alt> <F1> General ToDo Help
- <Ctrl> <F1> ToDo Road Map (Functions/Help)
- <F10> Calendar
- <Shft> <F10> Calculator (Math & Date)
- <Ctrl> <F10> can be pressed anytime if you're using an EGA or
- VGA monitor to change colors (there are 2 color
- options). Also see the discussion below
- about the EGA/VGA Palette Options.

- With a "single color" monitor that has graphics capabilities,
- use the command line option: /MONO to force monochrome
- attributes.

- HINT: Pressing <Ctrl><F1> will display all of the functions within
- ToDo and how to get there. If you highlight any one of the
- functions and press <RETURN>, full help on that topic will be
- displayed.

- When entering data remember the following:
-
- At least one CLIENT must be entered before any TASKS can be entered.
- At least one TASK must be entered before any HOURS can be entered.
-
- So, follow these guidelines:
- 1 Enter one or more clients (only 1 is req'd)(Client Maintenance)
- 2 Enter all the tasks that you're working on (Task Maintenance)
- 3 Enter the hours that you work on these tasks each day.
- 4 Print reports as needed.
